About Me

I am Edith,
the heart behind Cuban Culinary Journey.
My passion for food goes back to as long as I can remember. I was always beside my mother in the kitchen, helping with whatever I can. Setting the table I could barely reach. Having an entire Rainbow Bright Kitchen in my room. Asking for an easy bake oven every year. Watch and study my mom, day after day, holiday after holiday of the magic she would create in the kitchen. I would anxiously wait my turn to one day start cooking as well. Dreaming of the holidays I would host with a family of my own, doing exactly as what I saw my mother do. These were easily my best memories growing up. With that also came the love of my Cuban culture.
Even though I was born in the United States, I was raised as a proud Cuban. Beans and rice with every meal. Going to the bakeries with my dad as I got Cuban bread, pastelitos, and the biggest merenguito I can find. Drinking cafe con leche with my tostada. Listening to only the Spanish radio stations in the car. Celebrating Noche Buena, Thanksgiving, and birthdays with a caja china. All of this has become my Cuban culinary journey.
Food became my way of preserving culture, memory, and connection.
Now as I fulfill one of my greatest dreams, a chance to create a cookbook with my treasured family recipes. A gift to the future generations of my family and to those who share a love of Cuban food, traditions, and culture. Welcome to my beautiful journey.
Here, I share the recipes and stories that shaped my table - and hopefully, yours too.
Edy
